    From Batumi, take minibus #40 towards Chakvi from near the Argo cable car lower station. Inform the driver you wish to get off at the stop for Mtirala National Park in Chakvi. From Chakvi, take a taxi to the Mtirala National Park visitor center, approximately 15 km away. Expect to pay around 40 GEL for the taxi from Chakvi to the visitor center.

    A taxi directly from Batumi to Mtirala National Park costs approximately 40 GEL one way. It is advisable to arrange for the taxi to return you to Batumi, as finding a taxi at the park for the return trip can be difficult. Negotiate a price for the round trip and waiting time beforehand; expect to pay around 100 GEL.

    Renting a car in Batumi offers flexibility. Drive north along the coast to Chakvi, then follow the signs for Mtirala National Park. The drive from Chakvi to the park visitor center is approximately 15 km along a narrow road. Parking is available at the visitor center. Mtirala National Park, located in the Adjara region of Georgia, is a haven of biodiversity and natural beauty. Established in 2006, the park spans over 15,698 hectares and is known as the wettest place in Georgia, receiving up to 4,520 mm of rainfall annually. This high level of precipitation creates a lush, subtropical rainforest environment, home to diverse flora and fauna. The park offers two main hiking trails for visitors of varying skill levels. The Tsablnari Trail is a shorter, easier 7km loop that passes through dense forests, alongside the Chakvistskali River, and leads to the picturesque Tsablnari Waterfall. Along the way, hikers can enjoy views of the river, a small lake, and the surrounding verdant landscape. For more experienced hikers, the Tvistskaro Trail is a longer, more challenging 16km route that ascends to higher elevations, offering panoramic views. This trail passes through diverse forest types and provides opportunities to spot local wildlife. Mtirala National Park is home to a variety of plant and animal species, including brown bears, roe deer, wild boars, and various birds of prey. The park's vegetation consists of virgin Colchis wet deciduous and mixed forests, with species such as chestnut, oriental beech, Pontic rhododendron and Colchis boxwood. Visitors can also enjoy other activities such as ziplining and horseback riding. The park's visitor center, located in the village of Chakvistavi, provides information about the park's trails, flora, and fauna.
