Walking
Start your journey at the Mtskheta town square, known as 'Svetitskhoveli Square', which is located near the iconic Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. From the square, head southeast on Erekle II Street. Continue straight for about 600 meters until you reach the intersection with the main road (Rustaveli Street). At this intersection, turn left and walk along Rustaveli Street for approximately 400 meters.
Walking
After 400 meters on Rustaveli Street, you will see a sign directing you towards the direction of Armazi. Follow the signs as you cross the bridge over the Mtkvari River. Once across the river, take the first right onto a small path leading uphill toward the citadel. The path is well-trodden and offers a pleasant walk with views of the surrounding area.
Walking
Continue walking uphill for about 300 meters until you reach the entrance of Armazi Citadel. You’ll find that the entrance is marked and it is a short climb to the citadel itself, where you can enjoy the historical ruins and panoramic views of Mtskheta and the Mtkvari River.
