Walking
From the center of Mtskheta, head east on Dzhvaris Street towards the Mtkvari River. Continue straight until you reach the main road. Cross the river using the bridge. After crossing, turn left onto the road leading towards Tbisi. Continue walking straight for about 4 kilometers until you see signs for Birtvisi Fortress. The fortress is located on a hill, so follow the trail leading upwards until you reach the entrance.
Public Transport
From the central bus station in Mtskheta, take a marshrutka (minibus) heading towards Tbisi. Make sure to tell the driver you want to go to Birtvisi Fortress. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off near the entrance to the fortress trail. From there, follow the marked trail leading upwards to the fortress.
