Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Telavi, head east on Shota Rustaveli Street towards the Telavi Fortress. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Tsinandali Street. Turn left onto Tsinandali Street and walk for another 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you toward Kvareli. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will come to a bus stop where you can catch a marshrutka (minibus) heading to Kvareli. Inform the driver that you want to go to Graneli Winery.

  • Marshrutka

    Once you are on the marshrutka heading to Kvareli, enjoy the scenic views of the Alazani Valley. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. The marshrutka will drop you off at the main square in Kvareli. From there, walk towards the Kvareli Lake, following the signs for wineries. Graneli Winery is about a 15-minute walk from the square. Head northeast on the main road (Meurneoba District) until you see the sign for Graneli Winery on your right. The winery is located at 4800, Meurneoba District, Kvareli.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Telavi. Start your journey by heading east on Shota Rustaveli Street towards the Telavi Fortress. After about 1 kilometer, turn left onto Tsinandali Street. Continue cycling for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the bus stop for marshrutkas to Kvareli. From here, you can either continue on your bike or take a marshrutka to Kvareli. If you choose to bike all the way, follow the main road towards Kvareli, and look for signs directing you to Graneli Winery. The total distance from Telavi to the winery is around 15 kilometers.
