Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), head south towards the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Exit the station and walk towards the pedestrian area. Continue along the street called 'Unter Goldschmied' until you reach the 'Buttermarkt' square. From there, turn left onto 'Salzgasse'. The Historische Altstadt will be on your right at Salzgasse 15.

  • Public Transport (Tram)

    From the Cologne Central Station (Köln Hbf), take tram line 1 or 7 towards 'Bonn' or 'Südfriedhof'. Get off at the 'Heumarkt' stop. From Heumarkt, head east on 'Salzgasse' where you will find the Historische Altstadt at Salzgasse 15.

    If you are near the Rhine River, walk towards the 'Hohenzollern Bridge' (Hohenzollernbrücke). Cross the bridge and head towards the Old Town (Altstadt). Once on the other side, follow the signs towards 'Alter Markt', then walk towards 'Buttermarkt' and take a left onto 'Salzgasse'. The Historische Altstadt is located at Salzgasse 15.
