Start at Essen Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Take the U11 tram towards 'Bredeney' and get off at the stop 'Zollverein'. It takes about 20 minutes. Once you exit the tram, follow the signs directing you towards the UNESCO site. Walk straight for about 10 minutes, crossing the main road, until you reach Shaft XII, located at Areal A, 45309 Essen.

If you are near the Essen city center, you can also walk to Shaft XII. Head towards Gladbecker Str. and continue on this road until you reach the intersection with Zollverein. Turn left onto Zollverein and follow the road for about 15-20 minutes. You will arrive at the entrance of Shaft XII located at Areal A, 45309 Essen.

For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations near Essen Hauptbahnhof. Use a map app to set your route to Shaft XII. The bike ride should take approximately 15 minutes. Follow the bike lanes on Gladbecker Str. towards Zollverein.
