Getting There

  • Public Transport - Train

    From Essen Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the S-Bahn line S1 towards Dortmund. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Alight at Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. Upon exiting the train station, follow the signs to the city center. Steinwache is located about a 15-minute walk from the station.

  • Walking

    From Dortmund Hauptbahnhof, head northeast on Bahnhofstraße. Continue straight onto Westenhellweg, which is a pedestrian street. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Steinstraße. Turn left onto Steinstraße. Steinwache will be on your right at Steinstraße 50.

  • Public Transport - Tram

    From Essen, you can also take tram line 107 from Essen Steele to Dortmund. The tram ride takes about 50 minutes and will take you directly to the city center. Get off at the stop 'Dortmund Stadtgarten.' From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Steinwache.

    After getting off at 'Dortmund Stadtgarten,' head east on Kölner Straße towards Steinstraße. Turn left onto Steinstraße, and Steinwache will be located at Steinstraße 50.
