Liebesstein: Heidelberg's Stone of Love
Seal your love in Heidelberg at the Liebesstein, a picturesque monument where couples attach love locks against the backdrop of the iconic castle and Old Bridge.
The Liebesstein, or Love Stone, is a modern monument with a romantic history located on the banks of the Neckar River in Heidelberg. Erected in 2013, it serves as a dedicated space for couples to attach love locks, a tradition that has become increasingly popular worldwide. Unlike other cities where locks are placed directly on bridges, potentially causing damage, Heidelberg provides this sandstone obelisk as a designated spot. The Liebesstein offers a picturesque view of Heidelberg Castle and the Old Bridge, making it a favorite spot for couples and photographers. The stone is easily accessible and provides a unique opportunity to participate in a global tradition while enjoying the beauty of Heidelberg.
