If driving, enter 'Burg Eltz, Wierschem' into your GPS. This will lead you to the Eltz Castle car park. Parking costs €4 for cars/motorbikes and €8 for larger vehicles. From the car park, you can either walk 1.3km down to the castle (approx. 15 minutes) or take the shuttle bus for €2 per person, per way. Note that the shuttle bus only operates when the castle is open (April to November).

Take the train to Hatzenport station. From there, take the RegioBus line 365 directly to the Burg Eltz (castle parking place) bus stop. The bus runs daily from April 1st to November 1st. In 2025, a single bus fare from Hatzenport Bahnhof to Wierschem, Burg Eltz is €5.10. A return ticket is €5.20. From the bus stop, you can walk to the castle (1.4 km, about 25 minutes) or take the shuttle bus (€2 per person, per way).

From Wierschem, a taxi to Burg Eltz will cost approximately €10-€13 and takes about 9 minutes. Taxi Charly (+49 (0) 2605 2022) is a local taxi service. From Moselkern, a taxi ride to the castle will be longer and more expensive.

From the Eltz Castle car park, follow the signs for the footpath down to Burg Eltz. The path is 1.3 km long and takes approximately 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can walk along the paved road used by the shuttle bus, which is slightly shorter (800m) but steeper. From Moselkern train station, a scenic hiking trail leads to the castle (approx. 5km, 1.5 hours).
