If you're driving from any location in the Rhine Valley, head towards the A5 motorway. Follow the signs for Heidelberg, and take the exit 38-Heidelberg/Schwetzingen. Merge onto B535 towards Heidelberg. Continue on B535, which will lead you directly into the city. Once in Heidelberg, follow signs for 'Altstadt' or 'Old Town'. You can park at one of the public parking facilities such as the P12 parking garage, which is close to the Altstadt. Note that parking may incur a fee (approximately €2-€4 per hour).

If you prefer public transportation, take a regional train (RE or S-Bahn) from various locations in the Rhine Valley to Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main train station).
