From Universitätsplatz, the Alte Universität is directly accessible. If arriving from Hauptstrasse (main street), walk towards Universitätsplatz; the Alte Universität is the prominent Baroque building facing the square. From the Marktplatz (Market Square), walk along Heiliggeiststrasse towards Universitätsplatz. The Alte Universität will be on your left as you enter the square.

The closest public transport stops are Universitätsplatz (bus lines 29, 32, 33) and Peterskirche (bus lines 20, 30, 31, 36). From either stop, it's a short walk to Universitätsplatz and the Alte Universität. A single ticket within Heidelberg costs €3.40. A day ticket for the city zone is €8.90.
