Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, first make your way to the nearest town with road access in Mount Athos, which is typically Ouranoupoli. From Ouranoupoli, take the road toward the Mount Athos entrance. Note that access to Mount Athos is restricted, and only male visitors are permitted. Ensure you have obtained the necessary permission (diamonitirion) before entering. Once you arrive at the entrance, you will need to park your car, as private vehicles cannot travel further into the peninsula. From the entrance, continue by taking a local taxi or a pre-arranged transfer to your desired monastery, and ask the driver for guidance to the nearest point to Toroni. Next, you will need to take a local bus or taxi from Toroni to Klimataria beach, which is located directly along the coast.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, first take a bus from Thessaloniki to Ouranoupoli. Once you arrive in Ouranoupoli, you need to secure your entry permit (diamonitirion) to Mount Athos. After obtaining your permit, take a local taxi or shuttle service to the Mount Athos entrance. Similar to traveling by car, you will need to park at the entrance. After that, arrange for a local taxi to take you to the nearest monastery or Toroni, then catch a local bus or taxi from Toroni to reach Klimataria beach.

• Walking

  Once you arrive at Klimataria beach from Toroni, enjoy a short walk along the beautiful coastline. The beach is easily accessible and requires minimal walking from the nearest bus stop or taxi drop-off point. Just follow the signs or ask locals for directions to ensure you find the best access point to the beach.
