Getting There

From the Old Town, take the narrow paths that lead up the hill towards the Fortress of Akronauplía. The walk will take about 15-20 minutes as you ascend, and you will encounter various viewpoints of the city and sea. Keep climbing until you reach the entrance of the fortress located on Fotomara 4.

    While there is no direct public transport to the fortress, you can take a local bus to the nearest point. Board a bus from the Nafplio Bus Station heading towards the port area. Get off at the stop closest to the Old Town. From there, follow the walking directions provided above, allowing approximately 25-30 minutes for the ascent from the bus stop to the fortress.
