Getting There

    If you are in the center of Nafplio, start at Syntagma Square (Plateia Syntagmatos), which is a central point. From the square, head towards the waterfront promenade, known as the 'Vasileos Konstantinou' Street. Walk towards the sea, and you will pass cafes and shops along the way. Once you reach the waterfront, turn left and continue walking along the promenade. You will see the beautiful view of the Bourtzi island fortress ahead. Continue along the promenade until you reach the end where the street curves to the right. Keep walking straight until you come to the intersection with K. Karamanli Street. Turn left onto K. Karamanli Street, and continue walking until you reach the base of the Palamidi Fortress. You will see the signs directing you to the Western Entry Gate as you approach the fortress entrance.

    Alternatively, you can start from the Old Town area, near the Archaeological Museum of Nafplio. From the museum, walk towards the main road (Vasilissis Olgas) and turn right. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Arvanitias Street. Turn left onto Arvanitias Street. This street will lead you directly to the beach area. Keep walking along the beach, and you will eventually see the signs for the Palamidi Fortress. Follow the signs that lead up the hill towards the Western Entry Gate. The walk will take you through a scenic path with beautiful views of the area.
