    If you are traveling by car and are already in the Samaria Gorge area, drive south towards Sougia. Follow the signs for Sougia, which will lead you through the scenic countryside of Crete. After approximately 20 minutes of driving, you will reach the village of Sougia. From there, continue towards the coast. Once you arrive in Sougia, look for signs to Agia Irini Gorge. You will need to park your car in the allocated parking areas in or around Sougia, as there may not be parking at the gorge entrance.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a bus from Chania to Sougia. Buses run regularly from Chania bus station to Sougia, and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Sougia, follow the signs to Agia Irini Gorge. The walk from the bus station to the gorge entrance is approximately 1 km. Be aware of the bus schedule for your return trip, as service may be limited later in the day.

  • Hiking

    If you are in the Samaria Gorge and want to hike to Agia Irini Gorge, start by exiting the Samaria Gorge trail at the Agia Irini exit point.
