Getting There

  • Car

    From the entrance of Samaria Gorge, drive towards Chania on the E65 highway. Continue for about 35 km until you reach the village of Chora Sfakion. From there, follow the signs to the village of Loutro, where you can park your car. Note that Loutro is a small seaside village with limited parking options, so arrive early to secure a spot. The drive takes approximately 1 hour.

  • Boat

    Once in Loutro, take a boat taxi to the beach closest to Greleskas Observatory. The boat trip will take around 20 minutes. Make sure to check the boat schedules in advance as they can vary depending on the season.

  • Hiking

    After disembarking from the boat, follow the marked hiking trails leading up to Greleskas Observatory. The hike is approximately 1.5 km and will take about 30-45 minutes. The trail can be steep in places, so wear appropriate footwear.

  • Public Bus
