The beach's name comes from the charming 19th-century whitewashed chapel of Agios Sostis (Saint Sostis), which overlooks the bay. The beach is generally exposed to the northern summer winds (meltemia), but there are spots that remain calm even on windy days.
While Agios Sostis maintains a serene ambiance, it also offers some amenities. A few seaside cafes provide umbrellas and sunbeds, while leaving ample space for visitors to set up their own equipment. The surrounding area has accommodations, including rental apartments, villas, and hotels.
