Getting there

Bus

From Rhodes Town, take the KTEL bus to Tsambika Beach. The bus journey takes approximately 1 hour and costs around €4 per person. Check the KTEL Rodou website for the most up-to-date bus schedules, as services may be less frequent outside of the peak summer season. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the beach.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Rhodes Town and can take you directly to Tsambika Beach. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes and costs between €30-€40. A taxi from Faliraki to Tsambika Beach will cost around €12. There are usually taxis waiting near the beach for the return trip.

Car

If driving from Rhodes Town, follow the EO95 road south. Tsambika Beach is located between Kolymbia and Archangelos. Turn off the EO95 when you see signs for Tsambika. The road down to the beach is well-maintained. Parking is free and plentiful. Be mindful of soft sand areas when parking.

Overview

Tsambika Beach, located approximately 26 kilometers south of Rhodes Town, is a jewel on the island's eastern coast. Situated between Kolymbia and Archangelos, this beach is renowned for its stunning natural beauty. The beach stretches for about 800 meters, boasting fine, golden sand and crystal-clear waters. The shallow seabed makes the sea temperatures suitable from June to late September.The beach is named after the Monastery of Tsambika, perched atop a nearby rock. Legend says that the monastery's icon of the Virgin Mary has miraculous powers, especially for couples struggling to conceive. The monastery is a pilgrimage destination for women experiencing difficulties conceiving. The climb to the top offers stunning panoramic views.Tsambika Beach is well-organized, offering amenities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars, showers, and water sports. Visitors can rent sunbeds or bring their own equipment. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy jet skiing, paddleboarding, and more. Several tavernas and restaurants near the beach offer refreshments and local cuisine. A section of the beach is unofficially recognized as a nudist area.
