Founded in 1991 by Geronda, Hieromonk Nektarios Moulatsiotis, the monastery has grown from humble beginnings into a beautiful complex. The monastery is dedicated to Saint Nektarios and Saint Fanourios. Saint Nektarios was known as a great miracle worker, particularly as a healer, prolific writer, theologian, philosopher, moralist, educator, poet, ascetic and mystic. Saint Fanourios is the patron saint of things lost, and his name is often invoked in prayer for the recovery of lost items. Today, sixteen nuns reside at the monastery, engaging in various activities such as incense production, candle making, sewing ecclesiastical clothing, apiculture, hagiography, and crafting various religious items. Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds, admire the architecture, and experience the tranquility of this spiritual haven. The monastery also has a cemetery in the form of ancient catacombs. Visiting hours vary, and modest dress is required. Women should wear long skirts and long-sleeved blouses and cover their heads with a scarf, while men should wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts.
