    From Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM) or Tumon, drive south on Route 1 (Marine Corps Drive) until you reach the main gate of Naval Base Guam. The T. Stell Newman Visitor Center is located to the right of the gate, adjacent to the Type-C Japanese midget submarine. Parking is free.

    From Guam Airport, take the bus to Hagatna Pool Terminal, then transfer to the bus to Pass & ID, Sumay Naval Station. The T. Stell Newman Visitor Center is a short walk from the bus stop near the Naval Base Guam front gate. Bus fare is approximately $2 - $9.

The T. Stell Newman Visitor Center is the ideal starting point for exploring the War in the Pacific National Historical Park. Named after the park's first superintendent, the center provides a comprehensive introduction to Guam's pivotal role in World War II. The museum within the visitor center features interactive exhibits in English, CHamoru, and Japanese, bringing the history of the Pacific Theater to life. Visitors can explore personal stories, view artifacts, and engage with media stations offering firsthand accounts of the war. A highlight is the interactive battle map that vividly illustrates the Battle of Guam. Outside the visitor center, a Type-C Japanese midget submarine is on display. Captured after running aground in 1944, it is believed to be the only remaining submarine of its kind. The visitor center also offers a bookstore operated by Pacific Historic Parks, with proceeds supporting educational programs within the park. Knowledgeable park rangers are available to assist with trip planning and provide insights into the history of Guam and the CHamoru people.
