Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near the central square of Antigua, known as Parque Central, head southwest towards 4ta Calle Poniente. As you walk, you will see the impressive La Merced Church on your left. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with 5ta Avenida Norte. Turn left onto 5ta Avenida Norte, and after a short walk, take another left onto 4ta Calle Poniente. You will find Palacio del Ayuntamiento on your right side, right before the next intersection. The building is easily recognizable with its colonial architecture and is located adjacent to the local government office.

    From the Museo de Arte Colonial, head east on 4ta Calle Oriente for about two blocks until you reach the intersection with 5ta Avenida Norte. Turn right onto 5ta Avenida Norte, and walk straight until you reach 4ta Calle Poniente. Turn left, and continue down the street. The Palacio del Ayuntamiento will be on your right, a few steps ahead. Look out for its distinctive façade and the clock tower.

    If you are coming from the Antigua Guatemala Cathedral, exit the cathedral and head northwest towards Parque Central. Once you reach the park, walk directly southwest towards 4ta Calle Poniente. After a few minutes, you will reach the intersection with 5ta Avenida Norte. Turn left and proceed down 5ta Avenida Norte until you hit 4ta Calle Poniente. Turn left onto 4ta Calle Poniente, and you will see the Palacio del Ayuntamiento on your right.
