Head north on the Lethem to Georgetown road (also known as the BR-2 road). After approximately 90 kilometers, you will reach the turnoff to the Kaieteur Falls. Follow the signs indicating 'Kaieteur Falls' and prepare for a bumpy ride as the road conditions can be rough. The last segment of the journey will be via a dirt road leading to the falls. Make sure to drive cautiously and check for any local advisories regarding road conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Kaieteur Falls via public transportation, you can take a bus or minibus from Lethem to the town of Georgetown. The bus fare is typically around GYD 3,000 (approximately USD 15) and the journey can take several hours. Once in Georgetown, you will need to catch a domestic flight to Kaieteur Falls. Look for flights from Ogle Airport or Cheddi Jagan International Airport that operate to the Kaieteur airstrip. The flight usually lasts about 45 minutes and costs around GYD 35,000 (approximately USD 175). Ensure to book your flight in advance as seats can fill quickly.
