Car
If you're driving, start your journey from Lethem, the nearest town. Take the Rupununi Road (also known as the Lethem-Surama Road) towards Surama. The drive is approximately 40 km and will take around 1 hour. Drive carefully as the road may have potholes and is mostly unpaved. Upon reaching Surama, look for the sign pointing to SURAMA ECO-LODGE, which is located at the coordinates 4.1463128, -59.0600125. Follow the signs to the lodge. Parking is available at the site.
Public Transportation
From Lethem, you can catch a minibus or taxi that goes to the village of Surama. The fare is usually around $1500 GYD (approximately $7.50 USD) per person. The journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Surama, you can walk to SURAMA ECO-LODGE, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the village center. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the lodge.
Walking
If you arrive in Surama by public transportation, after disembarking from the minibus, walk towards the center of the village. Look for the main road leading into Surama and follow it. The lodge is well-marked, and locals are friendly and can assist you with directions if needed. The walk is about 1 km and should take around 15-20 minutes.
