Car
If you're driving, head towards Budapest from Kunság. Use the M5 highway, which connects to the M0 ring road. Follow the signs for M1 towards Budapest. After entering Budapest, follow the signs for 'Gellért Hill' or 'Citadella'. You will reach Citadella Street (Citadella stny. 1). There is limited street parking available near the entrance of the fortress, so be prepared to find a spot in nearby areas.
Public Transportation
To reach Citadella using public transport, first take a bus or train from Kunság to Budapest. From the Budapest-Kelenföld railway station, take tram number 19 or 49 towards 'Déli Pályaudvar'. Get off at 'Szent Gellért Tér' stop. From there, you can either walk up the hill (approximately 20 minutes) or take bus 27, which goes directly to the top of Gellért Hill where Citadella is located. The bus fare is around 350 HUF for a single journey.
Walking
If you're near the Gellért Baths or the Danube River, you can walk to Citadella. Head towards Gellért Hill and follow the pathways leading up. It’s a steep walk that takes around 30 minutes, but you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the city and the fortress itself once you reach the top.
