Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Vác, head towards the Váci út street. Walk straight down the street until you reach the intersection with Fő tér. Continue straight onto Váci út, which will lead you to Budapest. As you walk, keep an eye out for local shops and cafes where you can stop for refreshments. Once you reach Budapest, continue on Váci út for approximately 5 kilometers. You will pass by various landmarks and shops along the way. The Hungarian Orthodox Exarchate is located at Váci u 55, District V. in Budapest. Look for a building that features Orthodox architectural elements.

    From the Vác train station, take a train to Budapest Nyugati Railway Station. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Nyugati Station, exit the station and head towards the street. You can either take a tram or walk to the nearest metro station. If walking, head southeast towards Szent István körút. From there, walk towards Váci út. Alternatively, you can take tram line 4 or 6 from Nyugati Station to the nearest stop at Váci út. If you prefer the tram, take tram line 2 from Váci utca towards Jászai Mari tér and get off at the stop Váci u where the Exarchate is located.
