Getting There

• Train

  From Vác, head to the Váci railway station. You can find the station near the city center. Purchase a ticket to Nagymaros. Trains to Nagymaros run frequently, so check the schedule on the Hungarian Railways website or at the station. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Nagymaros train station, exit the station and follow the signs toward the Danube River. The beach is a short 10-minute walk from the station. Head south along the riverbank until you reach the beach area.

• Boat

  If you prefer a more scenic route, consider taking a boat from Vác to Nagymaros. Head to the Váci port located along the Danube River. Check the boat schedule as services may vary. The boat ride will offer beautiful views of the river and the surrounding landscape. Upon arriving at Nagymaros port, disembark and walk towards the beach, which is just a 5-minute walk from the port area.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in Vác. Start your journey from the city center and follow the designated bike paths along the Danube River. The ride to Nagymaros is about 12 kilometers and will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Keep following the path until you reach Nagymaros, and the beach will be easily accessible from the bike path.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, you can trek from Vác to Nagymaros. The distance is approximately 12 kilometers, which would take around 2.5 to 3 hours. Start your walk from the city center of Vác and follow the riverbank path toward Nagymaros. This route will provide you with beautiful views of the Danube River and the natural surroundings.
