From Fimmvorduhals Pass, head south on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Continue on Route 1 for approximately 60 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Reykjavík. Take the exit toward Route 49 (Borgarholtsbraut). Continue on Route 49 for about 5 kilometers until you reach Kistuhylur. The Árbær Open Air Museum will be on your left, located at the address 459J+77, 4, 110, Kistuhylur, Reykjavík. Parking is available on-site.

From Fimmvorduhals Pass, you will need to drive or take a taxi to the nearest bus station, which is located in Hvolsvöllur. From there, take the bus to Reykjavík (check the schedules as services may vary). Once you arrive in Reykjavík, transfer to bus line 15 or 11, which will take you to Kistuhylur. Get off at the stop nearest to the Árbær Open Air Museum, which is approximately a 5-minute walk away. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance for your return trip.
