Walking
From the center of Hafnarfjordur, head northeast on Aðalgata street towards the water. Continue until you reach the junction with Hringbraut (Route 41). Turn left onto Hringbraut and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the bus stop called 'Hafnarfjörður'. Here, you can catch a bus to Reykjavík. Board the bus number 1 or 15 which will take you to Reykjavík. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at the stop 'Hlemmur'. From Hlemmur, head east on Laugavegur street for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Tryggvagata. Turn left on Tryggvagata and walk for another 5 minutes. The Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhús will be on your left at Tryggvagata 17.

From Hafnarfjordur, walk to the nearest bus stop. Look for the bus stop named 'Hafnarfjörður'. Take bus number 1 or 15 towards Reykjavík. The journey will take around 25 minutes. Get off at the 'Hlemmur' stop in Reykjavík. Once you disembark, walk east along Laugavegur street for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Tryggvagata. Turn left onto Tryggvagata and you will arrive at the Reykjavík Art Museum Hafnarhús at Tryggvagata 17 after a 5-minute walk.
