After approximately 66 km, take the exit towards Route 848. Follow Route 848 for about 10 km until you reach Skútustaðir. As you approach Skútustaðir, look for signs directing you to Hofdi, which is located at the coordinates 65.5789° N, 16.9560° W. The drive should take about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

To reach Hofdi via public transportation, take a bus from Akureyri to Egilsstaðir. The bus service is operated by Strætó. After arriving in Egilsstaðir, you will need to take a local taxi or arrange for a ride to Skútustaðir, as there is no direct public transport to Hofdi. The taxi ride from Egilsstaðir to Skútustaðir will take approximately 30 minutes and will cost around 8,000 ISK to 10,000 ISK.
