If you are driving from Akureyri, head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for about 90 kilometers. You'll pass through beautiful landscapes, including mountains and rivers. Once you reach the junction for Route 848, take a right turn onto Route 848. Continue on this road until you arrive at the Mývatn area. Make sure to look out for signs indicating Mývatn, which is located approximately 10 kilometers from the junction.
