Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to Akureyri from anywhere in the Northwestern Region via Route 1 (the Ring Road). Once in Akureyri, follow signs to the city center. Turn onto Glerárgata street. The Hearts of Akureyri Traffic Light is located at Glerárgata, 600 Akureyri, and is easily visible from the road. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of parking regulations to avoid fines.

  If using public transportation, check the local bus schedules for routes heading to Akureyri. Buses from nearby towns will typically drop you at the Akureyri bus station. From the bus station, it's about a 15-minute walk to Glerárgata. Head south on Hafnarstræti, then turn left onto Glerárgata. The Hearts of Akureyri Traffic Light is located along this street. If you prefer not to walk, consider using a local taxi service, which should cost around 2,000 ISK for this short trip.
