Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Ólafsvík, head southwest along the main road, Road 54. Continue walking for approximately 2.5 kilometers until you reach the fork in the road. At the fork, take the right path that leads towards Hellnar, following signs that indicate the direction to Lóndrangar. As you walk, enjoy the scenic coastal views. After about 4 kilometers, you will reach Hellnar. Keep following the coastal path, and in about 1 kilometer, you will see Lóndrangar rising majestically from the sea. The walk is about 8 kilometers in total and should take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bicycle, start from Ólafsvík and cycle southwest on Road 54. Follow the same route as in walking, but cycling will allow you to cover the distance more quickly. The journey will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes. After reaching the fork, take the right path towards Hellnar, and from there, continue on the coastal path leading to Lóndrangar. The total biking distance is about 8 kilometers.

  • Public Transport

    Although there are limited public transport options, you can check for local bus services that may connect Ólafsvík to Hellnar. If available, take the bus heading towards Hellnar and disembark at the closest stop. From there, follow the coastal path to Lóndrangar, which is about a 1-kilometer walk from Hellnar.
