    From the main parking area in Skaftafell National Park, take the Ring Road (Route 1) heading east. Continue for approximately 33 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 998. Turn right onto Route 998 and follow the signs for Fossálar Waterfall. After about 5 kilometers, you'll find a small parking area. Be sure to park your vehicle here, as the trail to the waterfall begins nearby. The walk from the parking area to the Fossálar Waterfall takes about 30 minutes along a well-marked path.
