If you're traveling by car from Skaftafell National Park, start by heading south on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Continue for approximately 55 kilometers (about 35 miles). Look for signs for Jökulsárlón and take the exit onto the road leading towards the glacier lagoon. After approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles), you will reach the Viewpoint over Jökulsárlón, located along an unnamed road. There is a parking area available, but be aware that parking might incur a small fee.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the bus from Skaftafell to Jökulsárlón. The bus service operates several times a day, so be sure to check the schedule in advance. The ride takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Jökulsárlón, you can walk to the Viewpoint over Jökulsárlón, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the marked paths leading to the viewpoint, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the glacial lagoon.

If you are already in the vicinity of Jökulsárlón and prefer to walk, you can hike from the nearby facilities or the parking area. From the main parking lot, take a path that leads directly to the viewpoint. The walk should take around 15 minutes and is relatively easy.
