If you are traveling by car within Skaftafell National Park, drive to the Svínafell parking area. From the main entrance of Skaftafell National Park, follow Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Höfn. After about 12 kilometers, turn onto Route 998 towards Svínafell. Continue for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the Svínafell parking lot. There are no entrance fees for the park, but parking may require a fee during peak tourist seasons, so ensure you have some Icelandic króna on hand.

To reach Svínafellsjökull Glacier using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Skaftafell. The bus service, operated by Strætó or other local companies, runs multiple times a day.
