Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start from the nearest major road, Route 1 (the Ring Road). Head towards Route 26, known as the Highland Road, which leads you into the interior of the Highlands. Continue on Route 26 until you reach the junction with Route 32. Turn onto Route 32 and follow the signs towards Litlanesfoss. The waterfall is located along Upphéraðsvegur, about 30 km from the junction. Be aware of changing road conditions, especially in the Highlands, and ensure your vehicle is suitable for gravel roads.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transport, take a bus from Reykjavik to Egilsstaðir, which is the nearest town to Litlanesfoss. From Egilsstaðir, you will need to arrange for a taxi or a local shuttle service to take you to Upphéraðsvegur, as there may not be direct bus services to the waterfall.
