Car
If you are traveling by car within the Westman Islands, drive to the Heimaey island ferry terminal. From the ferry terminal, take the ferry to the mainland (Hvolsvöllur). The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes, and a round-trip ticket costs approximately 5,000 ISK per adult. Once you arrive at Hvolsvöllur, get onto Route 1 (Ring Road) heading east. After about 15 kilometers, take the exit for Austurvegur (Route 254) and continue for about 1 kilometer. LAVA Centre will be on your left at Austurvegur 14.

To reach LAVA Centre via public transportation, first take the ferry from the Westman Islands to the mainland (Hvolsvöllur). The ferry ride costs about 5,000 ISK per adult and takes around 30 minutes. Once you disembark at Hvolsvöllur, you can catch a bus from the ferry terminal. Check the local bus schedule for routes heading towards Austurvegur. After approximately 20 minutes on the bus, get off at the stop for Austurvegur 14; LAVA Centre will be a short walk from there.
