Public Transit (Train)
From Berwyn, head to the Berwyn Metra station located at 3701 S. Grove Ave. Take the BNSF Railway Line towards Chicago Union Station. After approximately a 30-minute ride, disembark at the Union Station stop. From Union Station, you can either walk to Harold Washington Library Center (about a 15-minute walk) or take the 'L' train by walking to the 'Washington/Wells' station and taking the Brown, Pink, or Blue line to 'State/Lake' station. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the library at 400 S State St.

Public Transit (Bus)
From Berwyn, take the Pace Bus Route 303 heading towards the Cicero Pink Line station. After about 20 minutes, transfer at the Cicero Pink Line station to the Pink Line train towards 18th. Ride for approximately 35 minutes and disembark at the Damen station. Transfer to the Blue Line and ride towards O'Hare. Get off at the Washington station, and walk about 10 minutes to reach Harold Washington Library Center located at 400 S State St.

If you are near the Berwyn Metra station, you can walk to the Harold Washington Library Center. Start by heading northeast on Grove Ave towards the Metra tracks. Turn left onto the tracks and head towards the station. Once at the station, take the BNSF Railway Line towards Chicago Union Station. After arriving at Union Station, you can walk about 15 minutes northeast to 400 S State St, where the library is located. Follow W Adams St to S State St, then head south to reach your destination.
