To reach Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site by car, start by getting onto I-55 S/I-70 W. Continue on I-55 S/I-70 W for about 20 miles. Take exit 40A for I-255 S toward Memphis. Merge onto I-255 S and continue for approximately 6 miles. Take exit 24 for IL-157 N toward Collinsville. After exiting, turn left onto IL-157 N. Continue on IL-157 N for about 3 miles. Look for the signs directing you to Cahokia Mounds, which will be on your right at 30 Ramey St, Collinsville, IL. There may be a small entrance fee for parking.

If traveling by public transportation, first take a Greyhound or Amtrak bus/train to St. Louis, MO. From the St. Louis Gateway Transportation Center, board the MetroLink light rail train heading towards Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44. Alight at the 'East St. Louis' station.
