    The Ethnic Heritage Museum is located at 1129 S Main St, in the southern part of Rockford. From the intersection of Main and Elm Street, walk south on Main Street for about half a mile. The museum will be on your left, across from Morgan Street. Street parking is available on Loomis Street.

The museum is located within Heritage Museum Park, which also includes the Graham-Ginestra House. Each of the six galleries within the museum is dedicated to a specific ethnic group: African American, Hispanic, Irish, Italian, Lithuanian, and Polish. Through carefully curated displays of artifacts, vintage clothing, historical photographs, and area maps, visitors can explore the traditions, customs, and experiences of these communities. The museum strives to bridge the gap between the past and present, encouraging visitors to reflect on Rockford's rich cultural tapestry and promising future. Visitors can explore exhibits such as displays about Kwanzaa in the African American section, including clothes and candles representing the Seven Principles. The Hispanic section showcases Hispanic culture during the holidays, including nativity scenes. The Irish section may feature displays of rutabagas on windowsills during the holidays, while the Italian section depicts Italian traditions such as the II Presepio (Nativity Scene). The Lithuanian section features displays made out of straw, and the Polish section contains an example of a Szopka. The museum is open for guided tours every Sunday, and private tours can be arranged by appointment.
