    From the Palatine Metra Station, take the Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago. Stay on the train for approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Chicago Union Station, exit the train and follow the signs to transfer to the 'Red' subway line. Take the Red Line toward Howard and get off at the 'State/Lake' station. From there, exit the station and walk southeast on State Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with South Michigan Avenue. The Art Institute of Chicago will be on your right at 111 S Michigan Ave.

    From the Palatine Park District, take the Pace bus route 696 towards 'Woodfield Mall'. Ride the bus for approximately 25 minutes until you reach the 'Woodfield Mall' stop. Here, transfer to Pace route 606 towards 'Randhurst Village'. Ride for another 15 minutes until you reach the 'Sultan's Run & Golf Course' stop. From there, you will need to walk to the nearest train station, which is the Arlington Park Metra Station. Take the Metra train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line toward Chicago. Once you arrive at Chicago Union Station, transfer to the Red Line subway towards Howard and get off at 'State/Lake' station. Walk southeast on State Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the Art Institute of Chicago, located at 111 S Michigan Ave.
