Public Transit
From Schaumburg, head to the nearest METRA station, which is the Schaumburg station located at 211 S. Park Blvd. Take the METRA train on the Milwaukee District West Line towards Chicago Union Station. The train ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Chicago Union Station, transfer to the CTA 'L' train. Take the Blue Line train towards O'Hare and get off at the Washington/Dearborn station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the Harold Washington Library Center. Exit the station and head east on Washington St. Turn right onto State St, and the library will be on your left at 400 S State St.

You can take the Pace Bus Route 607 from Schaumburg. Board the bus at the nearest stop to your location. The bus will take you to the Rosemont station. From there, transfer to the Blue Line 'L' train towards O'Hare. Get off at the Washington/Dearborn station. Exit the station, then walk east on Washington St. Turn right on State St, and you will find the Harold Washington Library Center at 400 S State St, just a short walk away.
