    Located a few kilometers from Darjeeling's city center, the Ava Art Gallery stands as a testament to the talent of Ava Devi and her contribution to the world of art. Founded in 1965 by Ava Devi and Bhopal Rao Sett, the gallery holds a special place as the only one of its kind in Darjeeling. The gallery features a permanent collection of around sixty pieces of Ava Devi's artwork, including water, oil, and thread paintings. Two notable works, "Still Strong" and "Torture," exemplify her skill and artistic vision. Visitors can also admire hand-made embroidery and silk applique, showcasing the intricate detail of silk threadwork. The building itself is easily recognizable with its bright purple and yellow exterior. Photography is not allowed inside the gallery. The gallery is open from 8 AM to 12 PM and again from 1 PM to 5 PM.
