Getting There

  • Walking

    From MG Marg, the main street in Gangtok, head towards the Sikkim Legislative Assembly building. Continue straight until you reach the Deorali Taxi Stand. From here, you will need to take a shared taxi to Lingdum. Make sure to ask for a taxi going to Lingdum or Ranka Monastery. The ride should take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Lingdum, the monastery is a short walk from the drop-off point. Head towards the main road (NH10) and look for signs pointing towards Ranka Monastery. Follow the path up the hill for approximately 10-15 minutes until you reach the entrance of the monastery.

    Take a shared taxi from MG Marg to Deorali Taxi Stand, then board a taxi headed to Lingdum. Inform the driver that you are going to Ranka Monastery. After about 30-40 minutes, you will arrive in Lingdum. Alight at the nearest point to the monastery and walk up the hill for about 10-15 minutes following the signs that lead you to the monastery entrance.
