Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Srinagar. Take the NH 1A highway and head towards Gulmarg. The drive will take approximately 2-3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach Gulmarg, follow the signs to the Gulmarg Gondola. Park your car in the designated parking area near the Gondola base.

Gondola
From the Gondola base, purchase tickets for the Gulmarg Gondola ride. The first stage takes you to Kongdoori, and the second stage takes you to Apharwat Peak. The total cost for a round trip is approximately ₹1,200 to ₹1,500 per person. Once you reach Apharwat Peak, you will be close to Vare-Kanoul Nag /Frozen Lake 2/Alpathar Lake. Follow the marked trails to reach the lakes, which are about a 30-minute trek from the Gondola station.

Public Transportation
If you do not have a car, you can take a local bus or shared taxi from Srinagar to Gulmarg. Buses leave from the Dhobi Khana area in Srinagar, and the fare is around ₹100-₹150. Once you reach Gulmarg, follow the same steps as above regarding the Gondola ride. Ensure you check the bus schedules for the return trip back to Srinagar.

After reaching Apharwat Peak via the Gondola, you will need to trek to Vare-Kanoul Nag /Frozen Lake 2/Alpathar Lake. The trek is moderately easy to moderate and should take about 30-45 minutes. Ensure you have proper trekking shoes and water. It is advisable to hire a local guide for assistance and to enhance your experience.
