To reach Khardung La by car, start your journey from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Head north on NH 1 towards North Pullu. The total distance from Leh to Khardung La is approximately 40 kilometers. The road is well-maintained but be prepared for steep climbs and narrow paths. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as the altitude can affect performance. You will pass through North Pullu where you may need to show your Inner Line Permit. This permit is essential for all travelers heading to Khardung La. After North Pullu, continue your ascent to Khardung La, which is the highest motorable road in the world at 5,359 meters (17,582 feet).

The ride will take around 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.
