From Leh, head to the main bus stand located near the city center. Look for buses heading towards Likir, which is approximately 50 km away. The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours. Make sure to inform the conductor that you are going to Likir Gompa, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop. Once you get off the bus, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Likir Gompa, which is a short walk uphill.

At the Leh taxi stand, look for shared taxis heading to Likir. These taxis usually leave when they are full, so be prepared to wait a bit. The ride to Likir takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive in Likir village, ask the driver to drop you off at Likir Gompa or follow the path leading to the monastery, which is well-marked and involves a short uphill walk.

For the adventurous, you can trek to Likir Gompa from Leh. Start your trek from Leh towards the direction of the Indus Valley. Follow the marked trails that lead to Likir. The trek is about 15 km and can take 4-5 hours depending on your fitness level. Make sure to carry sufficient water and snacks for the journey. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful views of the landscape and local villages. Once you reach Likir, the Gompa will be visible on a hilltop.
