If you're driving, start from the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center located at 1215 N. State Rd. 49, Porter, IN 46304. From the Visitor Center, head south on State Rd. 49 for about 1.5 miles. Turn right onto U.S. 20 and continue for about 2 miles. Then, turn left onto IN-49 N. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile until you reach the Indiana Dunes National Park Sign, which will be on your right. There are no entrance fees for the park, but parking may incur a nominal fee depending on the area you choose to park in.

To reach the Indiana Dunes National Park Sign using public transportation, start by taking the South Shore Line train from downtown Chicago or other nearby locations.
