Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the Indiana Dunes National Park Visitor Center, head southwest on IN-49 S for approximately 5 miles. Continue on IN-49 S until you reach the intersection with US-20 W. Merge onto US-20 W and drive for about 3 miles. Take the exit toward Portage and merge onto US-6 W. Continue on US-6 W for about 2 miles, then turn right onto Riverwalk Dr. Follow Riverwalk Dr until you reach Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Pavilion at 100 Riverwalk Dr, Portage, IN 46368.

• Public Transportation

  From the Indiana Dunes National Park Visitor Center, take the South Shore Line train from the nearby Beverly Shores station towards Chicago. Ride the train for 30 minutes until you reach the Portage/Ogden Dunes station. From there, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Pavilion at 100 Riverwalk Dr, which is about a 10-minute drive away. Keep in mind that train schedules may vary, and it's advisable to check the South Shore Line website for the latest schedule.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer biking, you can cycle from the Indiana Dunes National Park Visitor Center to Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Pavilion. Start by heading south on IN-49 S, then turn onto the bike path that runs parallel to the highway. Follow the bike path for about 6 miles until you reach the vicinity of Portage. From there, navigate to Riverwalk Dr, where you will find the Pavilion. Remember to wear a helmet and follow all local cycling regulations.
