Car
If you're driving, head towards the Little Calumet River Trail parking lot located at Porter, IN 46304. From the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, take a right onto IN-49 North and continue for about 3 miles. Turn left onto US-20 West and follow it for approximately 1.5 miles. Then, take a right onto IN-249 North. After about 2 miles, turn left onto E. 100 N. The parking lot for the trail will be on your right after about a mile. There is no fee for parking at the trailhead.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, your best option is to take the South Shore Line train from Chicago. Disembark at the Porter stop. From there, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach the Little Calumet River Trail parking lot, which is about 3 miles away. Expect to pay around $10-$15 for the taxi or rideshare to the trailhead.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike at one of the local shops in the area. From the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, take IN-49 North to access the bike-friendly roads. Follow the same route as if you were driving, but be cautious of traffic. The trailhead is about 6 miles away and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
